Recreation of the Eiffel Tower

This was a junior level undergraduate design studio class, at Pennsylvania College of Technology, taught by Naim Jabbour in spring 2018.

This was a partner project. My partner was Cayla Erisman. The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the World's Fair. It was named after Gustave Eiffel who owns the deign of the eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is 1,063 feet tall to the very tip and one of the most visited paid monument in the world. It is the global icon of France. In designing the site we did not want to disturb the existing conditions so we used the same footprint as the existing Eiffel Tower. The word unity is the word that comes to mind when we thought of France. France is a very centralized city as a whole. All of their streets connect or lead to something important so when designing, we kept unity in mind. When we think of unity we think of togetherness and that is where the curving and twisting tower concept came from.
